Still Waters Farm was established in 1996. Our goal at Still Waters has always been to give every horse a better life, and to give every rider the ability to help in that process.
Our school horses are members of the family. They all stay sound and rideable well into their 20’s and sometimes 30’s. When they are retired they live out their days here on the farm.
The training horses are treated with respect and fairness. JR teaches them how to understand their surroundings rather than over react to them. In addition to training horses JR gives roping lessons. His students learn to consistently catch because they learn the correct mechanics.
Kathy’s riding lessons emphasize riding from one’s core rather than limbs. This is the technique she uses on the training horses she rides. It is the reason the horses stay sound and happy. The Still Waters riders love to go to horse shows because they show for the horse not for the show.
